Which club is making history in the Philippines Football League?
PFF made history by starting the first professional football league in the Philippines on the 21 of April 2017.
After the launching of the league by PFF, the history making and record-setting period for players, coaches, and clubs in all the 8 teams participating in the league kicked started.
Loyola though not known for silverwares in the previous leagues is tipped as one of the favorites to lift the maiden trophy at the end of the season. With the club currently flying at the summit of the PFL table with 4 wins from 4 matches, Aris Caslib men have already made history and set the record as the only team to win all their games after match day 4!
Kaya Makati may be shaky in their past three matches, they are however comfortable in the second position closing the gap on Loyola with 10 points from 5 matches while JP Voltes that is fighting to keep the momentum they had last season in the UFL is sitting third on the table with 9 points after the clubs match day 5.
Global Cebu FC known for winning titles in various leagues and cups in the Philippine is yet to put their footprint in the PFL maybe because their focus was in the AFC competition. Now that the Cebu club is out of the AFC, there is a strong possibility that they can run rampant with their quality. The team is currently number 4 on the table with 7 points from 4 matches.
Ceres-Negros FC made up of Galacticos is a sleeping giant that is currently focusing on the AFC Cup. They have played just 2 games in the league. This club that is packed with stars is capable of eating whatever crosses their way in the league when they are finally settled. Though in 5 positions on the table with 4 points from 2 matches, Ceres has what it takes to be a PFL champion at the end of the season judging from their performance in the AFC competition.
Ilocos United and Davao Aguilas made history as the two new clubs to be part of the PFL in April. Since then, their joint history making and record-setting continue with both clubs currently struggling in the league with 1 draw and 3 losses on match day 4.
Stallion Laguna in the other hand is also making history and setting the records by rocking at the bottom of the PFL table on match day 4 for the club. The position may not be so kind to the Laguna men known for their fighting spirit but who deserve to be there?
