Ceres Negros FC is making headlines in Philippine Football with massive signing of stars in recent weeks into the football club in a bid for the PFL and AFC Cup 2017, and also in their pre season preparation and building of their Calacticos If I should liken them to Real Madrid of Spain.
With the PFL set to start in March according to several reports and their AFC Cup campaign starting also on March 7 at home against a familiar name (Tampines Rovers), Ceres is doing what professional teams do before the start of the season.
Their pre season started with a low key friendly game against Ceres La Sale University team before playing against other teams they will be meeting in the PFL when the league kick started.
However, Ceres is taking the pre season to a different level in the Philippines with Singapore tour which will include friendly matches against Home United on February 2, Singapore U23 on February 6, Jurong Albirex Niigata Fc on February 8.
What all these means is that Ceres will be in full fitness before the 2017 season starts, the players will have a good understanding of the team tactics and the managers vision. And hopefully, they will also be able to form a unit capable of challenging for a trophy at the end of the pre season.
Ceres outing in Singapore will attract more international headlines to the club and will also add more value to the up coming PFL as a professional football league.
